GISLINGHAM SILVER BAND STILL MARCHING AFTER 125 YEARS!
Dated: 23rd June, 2010
In 1885 the newly formed Gislingham Brass Band marched through Gislingham - now 125 years later the band repeats the event by leading the procession from the village hall to the school for the Village Fair.
The Gislingham Silver Band now has 27 members and is in the strongest position it has been in for a great number of years.
They are looking for other musicians to join them to ensure that this great tradition continues.
All ages and abilities are welcome. Currently the youngest member is 9 and the oldest is 79!
The band is often able to provide loan instruments.
They practice every Tuesday evening from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the band room in Mill Street, Gislingham.
