Diana Kearsley

I am and have been your local district councillor for 6 years, now into my 7th year. Have lived in Gislingham for 16 years although was born in St Albans in Hertfordshire and spent the first 25 years of my life in St A. I enjoy visiting relations etc in Hertfordshire but always breath a sigh of relief when returning to Suffolk.

Interests

These are varied - obviously interested in local government.
Music of all kinds - play the flute, albeit badly - am learning to play piano and teaching myself to play the melodeon. The melodeon is a fairly recent interest as I go along to several 'traditional music' events and always impressed by the music.
Gardening is a relaxing hobby
Dogs have always played an important part
Painting, watercolour etc is also on my list. I also paint and decorate furniture and 'things' in a Dutch style of folk art- having developed an interest in this style whilst living in Holland in the 70's.
Due to necessity I quite enjoy DIY - although it takes me a while to get motivated but once I start it is quite satisfying an rewarding...I suppose!
