A short history of Gislingham

Gislingham has been in existence for over a thousand years.

In 1970, Ronald J. Elliott produced a ‘Brief History of Gislingham’ as a talk for the Gislingham WI (still going strong!). These pages use his text to provide the overview of the history of the village. The text is used by kind permission of the Suffolk Local History Council.
