Wheelie Bins

Recyling bins are collected once every two weeks. Materials that go into the recycling bin must be clean, dry and placed loose within the bin.

Materials which can go into the recycling bin are:

* Clean shampoo bottles, plastic containers, plastic milk bottles, plastic fruit punnets
* Steel (cans only)
* Aluminium cans / foil
* Newspaper
* Catalogues / Magazines
* Directories (including Yellow Pages)
* Envelopes
* Junk mail
* Wrapping paper
* Office paper (including photocopy paper)
* Greeting cards
* Hard back books with covers removed
* Soft back books
* Brochures
* Cardboard packaging ie. ceral boxes etc (Large cardboard boxes should be folded flat and left beside your Recycle Bin)
* Egg boxes (plastic)

The following objects should NOT be put into the Recycling Bin.

* Glass / porcelain / ceramics
* Any crisp packet foil or plastic
* Medical waste / clinical waste
* Blood contaminated items
*Garden waste / soil
*Food waste
* Sharps (needles)
* Sanitary waste / disposable nappies
* Paint / oil / car parts
* Polystyrene (packaging and food containers
* Hard plastic ie. toys, furniture, flower pots
* Coat hangers
* Textiles (clothes)
* Wood
* Laminated paper / photographs
* 'Tetra Pak' (milk and juice carton)
* Sand, building materials
* Hazardous waste (paint, solvent)
* Shredded paper
* CDs / DVDs / video tapes
* Pots and pans
* Egg boxes (cardboard)
* Animal waste
* Vacuum cleaner contents
* Electrical and electronic waste
* Carrier bags
